sorry.
just wanted to apologize for my lack of updates. There is literally nothing to talk about in my life right now. Claire works all day and I am bored because I have no work right now. We’re so close to moving and it’s getting a little scary. In two weeks we will be in Kansas enjoying humidity and maybe some lime squeezes.
That’s all that is happening in my life. Once i start working there will be plenty to read. Sorry.

Music…
Music is the most difficult subject for me to write and/or talk about. That sentence my seem like a lie to some of the people reading this and for very good reason. When the subject of music comes up I can’t shut up, which I hate about myself. I’ve been thinking about it off and on for the past month or so – I think the reason I talk so much when it comes to music is because I don’t really know what I’m saying, which doesn’t make sense. I LIVE for music – it is what I want to do for the rest of my life, but I am so unskilled at discussing it. Because of this there are a couple things I want to say.
Firstly, I’d like to sincerely apologize for my ignorance and arrogance surrounding music. If I have ever said that a band you like is stupid or sucky, I’m very sorry and I take it all back. I really do believe and know that music is entirely subjective and while I may not like something, it doesn’t mean it sucks. I’m learning that I am able to find something good and valuable in almost all music. The one genre that still eludes me in that respect is hip-hop. I just really can’t find anything that isn’t regurgitation, but that’s okay.
Secondly, I could listen to music all day every day and probably never get tired of it. Even though I can do this and in fact do it frequently, I never stop finding significance in the music. Honestly, when I stop and really think about it I never experience the same song the same way twice. Which just goes to show you that God is spectacular. That may be a stretch for some people, but think about it – God created us and gave us the ability to not only make music but to even hear it. My favorite thing about God is that He is so creative and gave us the amazing ability to create and enjoy creation. I’m sitting here listening to Liars and Thieves by The Invasion, and I just am overwhelmed by every note I hear. I LOVE that I can be captivated by notes and words and chords and instruments and sounds and passion of musicians.
I don’t know if much of that made sense, but it’s all to say this. There is nothing in this world that impacts me as much as music does. I can accept that is not true for all people, but I could not live without music.

Goin Strong, like Nate.
Today was a pretty awesome day. I hung out for the first part of it, but around 11 I went to meet with Dr. Christopher to pick up my new Fender Rhodes. It’s a Mark 1 Seventy Three Stage Rhodes. It rules. To top it all off he gave it to me in exchange for some consultation and building of their new studio in the music building. I am excited about both things, one the free (basically) rhodes, and two, helping them with the studio, I love that crap. Then the afternoon was fairly boring, took a nice nap cuz I stayed up til four writing a proposal for The Punch. Woke up and headed to the studio in Eagle.
Before tracking, Marc and I ate at delicious Panda Express. We set up the rhodes and continued tracking Katie Wilson’s EP. The rhodes sound we got was just delicious. Just a tiny bit of distortion, and a nice slapback echo with the MultiEcho, and a compressor before the MultiEcho. Pretty nice little setup. Then we tracked drums and scratch vocals. I really like the song so far. I’ll put the song up so you can hear the sounds we got, but keep in mind this is super super rough. Just bare bones tracks, you can even hear the click track bleeding in the scratch vocal mic. So enjoy that. After that, came home, spent some quality time with the wife, and then got on the computer and am writing this.
Enjoy your life, I’m lovin mine. See ya.

Welcome Back
Hey folks,
I took a little blog hiatus, in case you couldn’t tell. I don’t plan on doing this often, like robbie! Just was loving some time off since school stopped. So let me bring you up to speed on my life. School is done, and I’m lovin every minute of it. For the past 3 weeks I’ve been sleeping in til around 10 or 11. Which has been great, but it’s all over. I decided last night after thinking about it I’m going to wake up at 8 every morning. I just feel so much better when I get up in the morning, instead of doing nothing and sleeping forever. Honestly that’s about all I’ve done, other than cleaning and doing projects around my in-laws.
WORD
I’m gonna be like Nate and update every day.

Dang Dawg
So I just completed my final class at Northwest Nazarene University. I really couldn’t be more relieved. I have no finals, so I am literally done save for a couple papers that I have to finish up. This is the best feeling in my life. I still have a few more credits to take online to actually get my degree, but no more classrooms for me. I’m lovin life, and my house smells a little like sour milk. Lovin life. BTW Sorry I haven’t updated in a long ask time. SORRY.

Dumb.
So I came across something very interesting whilst browsing this evening. This is a computer which claims to be able to run leopard out of the box. This computer is in direct violation of Apple’s End User License Agreement. I think it’s great that people want to have the leopard “experience” and be able to do it for cheap. BUT you can’t just go make a computer and install leopard on it. It specifically says in Apples EULA that you must install it on Apple Branded Hardware. They, of course, have the story on MacRumors.com that talks about this. Evidently someone was able to interview a person at the company that is putting out this “open computer”, who said that they will be challenging Apple’s EULA. Here’s a quote:
[Robert] also said Psystar believes Apple’s prohibition against third-party installations might not hold up in court: “What if Honda said that, after you buy their car, you could only drive it on the roads they said you could?”
Robert said Psystar will continue to sell the OpenMac system, despite the fact that it appears to violate Apple’s EULA. “We’re not breaking any laws,” he insisted.
I find it interesting, but honestly, a Mac is what makes leopard so amazing. I couldn’t imagine starting up my leopard “machine” and not hearing the wonderful apple startup tone, I’ve heard it my whole life, I won’t change now. Even if the stupid thing is 399.
Dumb. Period.
